FARE STRUCTURE AND CONCESSIONS

A. FARE STRUCTURE

Himachal State Govt. has notified vide Notification No: TPF-F(6)/2003 dated 9.4.2005 following fare rate of fare including taxes and surcharge :

In Deluxe and Semi-Deluxe services 100% and 50% additional is charged over and above the fare per KM of the ordinary services.

Fare charged for 80 Kg weight is equivalent to one passenger fare.

HRTC is at present operating Super Deluxe A/C Luxury Coaches (VOLVO) from Shimla to Delhi, Manali to Delhi & Dharamshala to Delhi, Parwanoo(CHD) to Delhi and vice-versa. The fare of these buses is as under :


1 Shimla-Delhi Rs. 604/- per seat.
2 Dharamshala-Delhi Rs. 695/- per seat.
3 Manali-Delhi Rs. 800/- per seat.
4 Solan to Delhi Rs. 550/- per seat.

B. CONCESSIONS:

Himachal Road Transport Corporation do not implement any subsidy programmes. However, as decided by the State Govt. from time to time it provides free and confessional travelling facilities to various sections of the society as under :

Allowed free travelling facility within and outside the State. A sum of Rs. 60/- per month is deducted by the Police Department and deposited in the Corporation.

Jail Wardens

Allowed free travelling facility within and outside the State. A sum of Rs. 60/- per month is deducted by the Police Department, but is being deposited with the HRTC.

Freedom Fighters with one attendant.

Free travelling facility allowed within and outside the State along-with  one attendant.

7

Ex- MPs/MLAs-Sitting MLAs/MPs with one attendant.

Free travelling facility allowed within and outside the State.

8

Handicapped.

Allowed free travelling facility within the State and blinds are allowed free travelling outside the State.

9

War Widow with one attendant.

Free travelling facility allowed within the State.

10

Gallantry Awardee

Free travelling facility allowed within and outside the State.

11

Union leader, Padamshree Awardee, Social workers, Thalassaemic patients.

Free travelling facility allowed within and outside the State.

12

Press Correspondents

Free travelling facility allowed within and outside the State.

13

Orphan students (upto +2).

Free travelling from native place to school upto +2 students.

14

Cancer/Multiple fracture/Spinal injuries.

Free travelling on referral slip within & outside state with one attendant.

15

National awardee teachers.

Six free passes in a year within the State.

DIFFERENT SCHEMES FOR TRAVELING PUBLIC.

  1. Group incentive scheme.
  2. To increase the Corporation revenue, the Corporation has introduced the following incentive schemes for the passengers:

    A group of 9 or more passengers are allowed a discount in fare @ 10%.


  3. Smart Card.
  4. Under this scheme, a smart card holder is allowed 10 % concession for travelling in HRTC buses. Senior citizens will get 20% concession. General public can purchase the smart card against a payment of Rs. 80 having its validity for one year.


  5. Courier Scheme.
  6. The Corporation has introduced courier scheme in its buses from all major bus stations.


  7. Yellow card.
  8. Under this scheme 20% discount is allowed for a distance 40 KMs. radius to the cardholder.


  9. Children upto the age of 5 years can travel free alongwith their parents. Between 5 to 12 age half fare is charged but full seat is offered. A passenger can carry luggage upto 15 Kg. Without paying any charges.
  10. For students of recognised institution in Himachal Pradesh, 50% concession in fare in ordinary buses is given for participating in sports, cultural etc. activities.
